We’ve raised over £20,000 and that’s all down to you!

We've raised over £20,000 and that's all down to you!

Since the day we started, we have made a conscious effort to give to charity by donating 25p for every item sold. We’ve always been so proud to do this but as our business grows, we can really see the impact it’s making. We thought we’d take a trip down memory lane to show you all where that 25p is going.

Partnership with Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity.

One of our proudest moments this past year is partnering up with Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity. From January 1st – 31st March 2021 we donated 50% of our Giving Back proceeds to help support the charity and in turn patients like Emma.

Emma was born with Taulipes, a condition where the foot is twisted. 11 years on RMCHCharity still continue to support Emma and her family throughout numerous surgeries and visits to the hospital.

“ We were so delighted to hear that Happy Linen Company wanted to support our wonderful Children’s Hospital and it’s great having the whole team on board. The money raised will make an incredible difference to our inspiring young patients and their families”

Partnership with Acorns Children’s Hospice

Working with Acorns this past year was incredibly humbling. They offer exceptional care to patients and their families providing a peaceful environment. From 1st April – 30th June 2021 we donated 50% of our Giving Back proceeds to this wonderful Charity. The money raised can help the Acorns Sibling Support Workers that work with around 240 siblings. They provide expert psychosocial support to children dealing with the challenges of living with a life-limited brother or sister.

“I’ve met other people like me, with a disabled brother. I’ve made friends at the sibling group. Sometimes I’ll talk about Harry if I want to get things off my chest, but mostly it’s about having fun”

Partnership with Support Dogs

From 1st July – 30th September 2021 we donated funds to Support Dogs. This charity is dedicated to increasing independence and quality of life for people with various medical conditions. They provide, train and support autism assistance dogs, seizure alert dogs and disability assistance dogs. The money you helped raise can help kids like Louis.

Louis was diagnosed with autism and global development delay five years ago. He wasn’t engaging with or responding to the world around him and was very withdrawn. With assistance from Iggy, a qualified support dog, Louis is now more independent and life for him has improved in ways they never could have imagined.

Partnership with Kondanani Children’s Village

We’ve had a long-standing partnership with Kondanani Children’s Village based in Malawi. From January 2021 we have raised over £3,000 for this exceptional charity. The funds can help support young orphaned children and help provide love and care and a fresh start for those in need.

Donated £1,500 to Fisherman’s Rest

This past year we’ve partnered with Fisherman’s Rest. Fisherman’s Rest has been working in Malawi for the past 25 years. Based just outside the Southern city of Blantyre, they have strong connections with the local communities and carry out projects that aim to support people out of poverty, through increasing standards of education and developing business in the area.

The fund donated helped support Esnat’s salary. She works two days a week in the new Safe House at the local police station. Part of her role is to be a support to the women and girls using the house, but predominantly to educate and raise awareness of the provision now available for women and girls escaping violence and/or abuse in their homes or communities.

Charity Christmas product – raising over £5,000

This Christmas we partnered with Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity for a second time. For every sale of our Santa and Friends bedding set we donated 100% of the proceeds to this charity. Thanks to you all, we sold every single bed set raising over £5,000!

As a small business, we never could have imagined we’d be in the position to raise so much, let alone have an actual charity Christmas item. We really hope to do this again next year, as it has been incredibly rewarding!

On top of the funds donated, we have been able to donate over 500 bedding sets to local charity and community initiatives such as Evelyn’s Gift and Emma Cosgrove Foundation, providing gifts and warmth for low-income families and raffle prizes for fundraising events.

Thank you to you all once again, without your support we wouldn’t have been able to do it! We are super excited to see what 2022 brings.

With love,

The Happy Linen team x
